my Dutch friend Marc got me this book as an early christmas present:
David Lynch drove around in Idaho and made photos of melting snowmen, it was part of his exhibit in Paris " The air is on fire". Thanks, Marc!

sunday morning transformation
yes, the writer has been at work again. new story, haven´t finished the other one, and of course there is still the sometimes very chatty ghost of a novel roaming around. whatever, I just reread an interview with alice- the master-munro: she says that stories are like houses, sometimes you want to work in the kitchen, but sometimes you just want to sit at the fireplace (oh I wish I had a fireplace!)
......The uncanny calm of freezing, layered skies. Clouds opaque and twisted like muscles.
from "The Journal of Joyce Carol Oates"
I couldn´t say it any better.
found this, love this:

just saw "serial mom" by john waters. now i´m a fan!
He even had time to make an album with christmas songs called "A John Waters Christmas", it´s on my list. Things like that make me look forward to christmas.
This and Marzipankartoffeln.
And maybe gonzo as charles dickens and rizzo the rat as his friend in the muppets christmas story. they are so adorable!
this looks like winter already, too:
but i like it.

Being a Bunny
I just discovered the artist Atsushi Kaga, who lives and works in Dublin. Skulls and Bunnies are having dialogues in his paintings:
"I´m feeling a bit of pressure being a bunny in front of people." Brilliant!
Apart from being dark and funny he is the coolest uncool person i have read about in a long time and him saying things like " I want to be in Waterstones café, reading books. I know it´s kinda sad, but that´s actually the place I want to be." in an interview are just incredible.
I´m not alone.

Seven Swans
this weekend
i went
to Blackrock
it was beautiful
there were swans
i used to like swans a lot
then i met Chris and Katharina at the Docklands. Chris studied Creative Writing in New York City. I´m not jealous at all.
we went on board of the Gorch Fock (luv the name, don´t you?)
Vorsicht bei Zitronengeruch!
then I walked home along the Grand Canal

Harvest
One of the best coffee-shops in town: the Coffee-Society. Great coffee, great muffins, great Bagels. I like the one at Ranelagh Street, but they are all over the city.
BTW: I started a new story called "French Paradox", it´s about harvest, illness, time and memories, sounds sad, i know, but what can i do....It´s based on a woman i met last week, let´s call her Traudel. We ate cupcakes, drank tea and spoke about Germany. She lives in Ireland since more than 30 years and has two children.

irish morning
an irish morning in ballsbridge: smog, church bells, the irish times and a mocha latte from insomnia
yes, its fall. i even had a dream last night in which i won a prize for a short story called "French Herbst".
of course i was kind of disappointed when i woke up...
finally porridge with goji-berries again. loved them in australia, but couldnt find them back in leipzig, supposedly they count as "superfood", whatever that is...
